This Privacy Policy describes how Winter Owls (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the Kaisen mobile application (“Kaisen” or the “App”) on iOS.

By using Kaisen, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.

1. Summary

Kaisen is a habit tracker. Most of your data stays on your device. We do not require an account to use the App. We use a small number of third-party services for crash reporting, analytics, and subscriptions.

2. Information we collect

2.1 Information you provide in the App

When you use Kaisen, you may enter or generate data such as:

• Habit names, icons, schedules, difficulty, and categories
• Habit completion history and streaks
• Reminder times and notification preferences
• Theme, appearance, and onboarding preferences

This information is stored locally on your iPhone using on-device storage (including SwiftData and UserDefaults). We do not operate a Kaisen account system and do not ask you to sign in with email or password in the App.

2.2 Widget data

If you add a Kaisen widget, a limited snapshot of today’s progress (for example, habit titles and completion counts) may be shared between the App and the widget extension through Apple’s App Group storage on your device. This data does not leave your device except as described below for analytics or crash reporting if those services receive device-level diagnostics.

2.3 Notifications

If you enable reminders, Kaisen schedules local notifications on your device. We do not send marketing push notifications from our own servers. You can change notification permissions anytime in iOS Settings.

2.4 Subscription and purchase information

Kaisen Pro subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not receive your full payment card details. Our paywall provider, Superwall, may receive information related to subscription status and paywall interactions to show and manage offers. 2.5 Automatically collected information

We use third-party services that may collect certain technical and usage information, including:

• Firebase Analytics (Google): App usage events and general device or app information to understand how the App is used and to improve it.
• Firebase Crashlytics (Google): Crash logs, stack traces, and related diagnostic data to fix bugs and improve stability.

This data is typically not used to identify you by name. It may be associated with a device or installation identifier. We do not use Firebase to show ads in Kaisen.

3. How we use information

We use information to:

• Provide core App features (tracking habits, insights, widgets, reminders)
• Process and display subscription status for Kaisen Pro
• Understand usage and improve the App
• Diagnose and fix crashes and technical issues
• Comply with legal obligations

4. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

• Service providers that help us operate the App (for example, Google/Firebase for analytics and crash reporting, Superwall for paywalls, Apple for in-app purchases)
• Legal authorities when required by law or to protect our rights, users, or the public
• Business transfers if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets (you will be notified if required by law)

5. Data retention

Habit and preference data on your device remains until you delete it in the App or uninstall Kaisen. Analytics and crash data retained by Google is governed by Google’s policies and our configuration in Firebase.

6. Your choices

• Delete local data: Remove habits in the App or uninstall Kaisen to delete on-device data.
• Notifications: Manage in iOS Settings → Kaisen → Notifications.
• Subscriptions: Manage or cancel Kaisen Pro in iOS Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions.
• Analytics and diagnostics: You may limit ad tracking or analytics at the iOS level (Settings → Privacy & Security). Crash reporting may still collect data needed for stability depending on your device settings and our SDK configuration.

7. Children’s privacy

Kaisen is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

8. International users

If you use Kaisen outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate. By using the App, you consent to this transfer where permitted by law.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict certain processing of your personal information. Contact us to make a request. We will respond as required by applicable law.

9. Security

We use reasonable measures to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
